i had lunch with my spdad and brian today. i'm glad ramon is my dad. he's awkward at times. but his excitement and enthusiasm for his family and spop makes him someone i look up to. i got to ask him questions about why he wanted to apply for a returner. why he applied to be a staffer in the first place. and other random things trying to get to know him better. he's a very insightful guy. i can't wait to get to know him even better during spop.

spop car rally was pretty amazing and exhausting all at once. my car (the kleptos [:) placed 3rd out of like 13 teams. but the real reward was spending some quality and chaotic time with fellow staffers. christian, alyssa, crystal and eric rounded out the cooooolest team for car rally 2010. im really starting to see the beauty of spop and all the people in it. people are so friendly and kind. some of the nicest people i've ever met. these people are deep. they think about pressing issues and about things in our society. they have insightful thoughts about life. im starting to see why the coords chose each and every staffer. all of the staffers are different in some way or another. there wasnt any two people that stood up for exactly the same things during the step forward game. everyone comes from different backgrounds and have experienced different events that have shaped who we are today and the views that we hold. and this uniqueness is what makes spop so amazing. the endless differences that make us individuals yet a common goal to serve the incoming freshmen that unites us as one staff. spop 2010. i'm excited for whats yet to come.
