1 Corinthians 13:13

"And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."

Pastor Dave talked about reaching out to the homeless today
and announced that he's moving to Santa Ana not only
to preach about doing things for the poor
but to actually get in there and live amongst those
that might not be well off as many
people are in Irvine.

He also told us about a tradition he used to do where people would tie strings around each other's wrists and pray for the person or say a verse to them. my sister gave me one. and i tied one on her. i prayed that she would have a great college experience. that she would meet good people at uci like i did. and that she would really trust God in everything that she did. i also prayed that if she was going through troubles that she could know that God is with her.

on the way out i passed by the booth where they had more strings so i grabbed a stack and there turned out to be three golden strings in the bunch. on my way back to the apt i decided to pray over the strings and said a verse over them as well. nothing special. it was just a prayer for God to watch out for the people that i tied the strings on. And that God would be working in their lives. that He would introduce people to them that would enlighten them and really show them what God has to offer them, since i've been lacking in that area. that they would come to know and experience God's love in people around them. i tied it around Eric, Craig and Doris' wrists as soon as i got back from church so that i wouldnt forget to put it on them. even before i took the strings i wanted to give it to those three because i knew they'd be home when i got there and i just happened to grab three of them. Thanks for hearing my prayer God.

went to red mango with karen
it was really good catching up with her
and getting her input on some things that have been
happening recently.
i'm thankful to have her as a friend.
tried to make it like a date scene
but when i looked up i laughed...
which made karen laugh hahah
kinda more natural. i like.

had dinner with tiff and her friend stephanie from washington. she was nice. and it was good picking on tiff with her. she knew steven chin too. i still cant believe how small a world this is.
